Flos Salis has been appreciated ever since the times of Pliny the Elder. Still today, this highly prized Portuguese Flor de Sal is skimmed by hand in the traditional salt works of Eastern Algarve's Ria Formosa Natural Park. The flaky crystals are the first to appear on the brine, gathered only hours later. Dried by the sun and wind, the salt flakes are carefully selection and packed by hand into a beautiful, understated glazed ceramic crock.
